Art Director / Principal Artist
As Art Director at Akili Interactive, I lead the visual and audio direction across all products, creating cohesive player experiences from early concept to final polish. I manage a hybrid team of internal artists and external vendors, balancing hands-on craft with production leadership. My work includes animation, VFX, shaders, lighting, technical art, sound integration, voiceover direction, tutorials, and marketing materials. I especially enjoy rapid prototyping as a way to explore and validate new ideas quickly. I am also exploring practical uses of AI in the art pipeline, including costume ideation, new character and asset development, and faster visual iteration in support of strong creative direction.
During my 30 years in game development, I’ve worn many hats. The majority of that time has been as Lead Visual Effects Artist. I’m very tech minded and often serve as the go between art and engineering, working out complex systems like weather and destruction. I have a strong background in modeling, lighting, camera work and set layout. I traditionally work on large set piece cinematics.

Film Photography
My primary camera is a Rolleiflex 2.8D. I’m fascinated with the whole development process. It’s a passion I share with my son. The square format negatives present a challenge, but the results are worth it.
Traditional Art
I love the negative impression from a 35mm photo projected onto a canvas. Phone booths are some of my favorite subjects. They tell a story about the person on the phone. This one is a guy just talking to his girlfriend. I also love tropical fish and the idea that we can mix the two.
