A bit about me…

With over 30 years in the games industry, I’m a battle-tested veteran who thrives on solving creative and technical challenges. I’ve always taken pride in doing whatever it takes to get the job done, whether that’s crafting the perfect visual effect, fine-tuning lighting and camera-work, or jumping into modeling when needed.

Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats: from building custom particle systems with tools engineers, to designing lighting and cinematic tools, to getting my hands dirty with environment art. I particularly enjoy working in Houdini, it pushes my technical and artistic limits, and I love building Digital Assets that streamline production and elevate workflows.

Currently, I serve as Art Director at Akili Interactive, a trailblazing digital therapeutics company. I lead our art team and oversee all visual and audio content across our suite of FDA-approved, clinically tested products designed to treat attention-related challenges in both children and adults.

As for AI, I use it where it makes sense. It’s great for cleaning up screenshots or quickly generating rough background concepts. But when it comes to hero moments or character design, I still prefer the human touch. For me, AI is a supporting tool, not the star of the show.

Beyond the screen, I’m passionate about film photography, hiking, and cooking. I shoot and develop my own medium format and 35mm negatives using a Rolleiflex 2.8D and a Nikon FE. And when I’m not in the darkroom or on the trail, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen. For years, I hosted weekly BBQs at Akili, and during the COVID lockdown, I shared cooking classes and recipes to help keep our team connected. You’ll find some of those recipes linked below.
